1973 Christian Dior Haute Couture Gold Cocktail Dress by Marc Bohan MRS Couture

This stunning, immaculately preserved 1973 Fall/Winter cocktail dress was designed by Marc Bohan for Christian Dior. The dress is numbered “01917”. The A-line tea length dress is composed of delicate chiffon with interwoven gold threads, creating a delicate Bengal-stripe pattern in gold and jasmine yellow. The dress features a ruffled V neckline, long sleeves with ruffles at the top of the cuffs, and a twice-ruffled hem. The skirt has wide pleats for a vertical ruched effect, and the cinched waist is accented with a gold satin ribbon belt. The dress has a crepe de chine lining.
