Excellent 1970s Rosenfeld Gold Floral Evening Purse MRS Couture

Exquisite vintage purse by Rosenfeld for Saks Fifth Avenue. The purse features a hardshell metal body engraved with flowers, and a mesh strap with a dainty floral stamped design. The lid of the purse is decorated with a floral design and has a flap clasp. The interior of the purse is lined in gold velvet; the borders of the velvet feature dainty gold trim. When open, the body of the purse spits into two halves held together by the stiff lining of the purse. The minaudiere – like purse was made in Italy. The Rosenfeld purse company is known for their gorgeous designs with tremendous collector appeal. Harry Rosenfeld’s career spanned decades. He began designing purses in the 1930s, selling them to high end department stores and eventually opening his own boutique on Madison Avenue in New York. Rosenfeld retired in the 1970s.
